Description
The Rabid Models 34″ Pfeil is a unique model of a really interesting German WWII fighter that is in our product line. Early on, we used whatever plastic cups were available to make cowls, which helped make the profile models look better. The Do-335 used 2 sour-cream containers, which aren’t quite scale!
Recently we’ve produced a correctly-shaped 3D-printed cowl that really looks great on this model. it measures about 72 in diameter and 40mm tall. We still use the sour-cream container around the front of the fuselage, behind the spinner.
Here’s a “before and after” comparison! The 3D-printed cowl also has cowl flaps. Next step is to paint it – the 3D-printed part is easily painted with acrylic paints.
Specifications: 3D-printed unpainted parts are made from White PETG. The cowl shown here is 72mm in diameter and 40mm tall and weighs about 11 grams.
We also produce a pair of 3D-printed scale spinners (front and rear) for this plane, you can see the front spinner in the pictures. The motor, propeller, and spinner is NOT included but these items are available separately. These products are for use ONLY with electric motors and propellers.
