Description

The JU-88 was an iconic German plane of WWII, a medium-size high-performance bomber which was used as a bomber, night-fighter, dive bomber, torpedo bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, heavy fighter, and even as a flying bomb. More than 15,000 were built in dozens of variants. The Rabid Models Ju88 is the A4 version.

This a “DELUXE” kit meant for the experienced modeler.  This kit costs more because it has some special features that cost extra to produce and include:

  • highly detailed laser-etched “panel lines” on the wings, fuselage, and cowlings
  • laser-cut balsa cockpit and nose “glazing”
  • optional detailed cowling with engine radiators
  • optional foam cockpit and nose parts are included as well

The special laser-cut balsa parts are included with the kit. To construct them they need to be glued onto both sides of a piece of flat clear plastic (not included with the kit). The optional $5 cowl detailing kit includes formed PVC plastic cowls and radiator detail pieces to produce the iconic look of this plane as you see in these photos. It takes extra craftsmanship to build, but isn’t particularly difficult if you are already an experienced modeler.

The kit includes the foam parts needed to build this model, along with a fully detailed construction manual and some accessories such as carbon fiber spars and the pull-pull control system.  The model is not assembled or painted, so the customer needs to supply glue, paint, and other hobby tools, servos, motors, and electronics in order to complete the assembly and make it ready to fly. This model is designed for two 1300kv/1oz size brushless motors and 3-bladed 9×7 propellers with a 3-cell 1350mah LiPo battery (not included but available separately).

The spinners you see in the picture are available for this model (CLICK HERE TO SEE),  these are custom-made 3D-printed spinners that we designed. This next picture shows the assembled model without the special cowls.
