47″ B-24 Liberator


Our 47″ version of the not-often-modeled B-24 bomber offers excellent performance in a relatively small and simple package. The model is specifically designed to use four of our 10gm brushless motors with scale-size 5″ 3-bladed props, but could also be used with four brushed GWS IPS motors. With the recommended brushless motor and 2-cell LiPo battery pack, the model flies realistically with plenty of power in reserve. It is stable and very responsive to the controls. We recommend it for indoor R/C flying, or outdoors in calm conditions. 

The kit includes the foam parts necessary to construct the model, a fully detailed construction manual and some accessories such as carbon fiber spars and our pull-pull control system.  The model is not assembled or painted, so the customer needs to supply glue, paint, and other hobby tools, servos, motors, battery and electronics in order to put it together. Building this model is not particularly difficult ( it requires several hours of work) but the work it takes to finish it (installing the motor wiring, electronics, and painting) can take a lot longer especially if you add details like decals and a custom paint job.

The B24 is a hand-cut kit, not laser cut.

Landing gear is not included but may be added easily (you’ll need a smooth landing surface and it won’t be able to land in grass.) Steve fashioned a simple music-wire landing gear along with a steerable nose wheel (this is something that’s not included with the kit but can be added with some craftsmanship.) 

This model needs working rudders, and they can be operated with the aileron servo or you can install a separate rudder servo.  This model cannot be flown as slowly as many of our other models because of that long wing, but as you can see in the video it flies very well and looks great in the air!
