Description
This 3D-printed spinner was designed for the Rabid Models 40″ P-38 “Fork-Tailed Devil” and our 9×7 3-bladed propeller. The propeller is secured on the spinner’s backplate with a standard “acorn” prop adapter (available separately), then the spinner cone simply snaps on securely – so no hardware is needed! No ugly screw holes or screws to get lost. Lightweight – each spinner is about 13.5gms (about 1/2 ounce).
This spinner is 2″ in diameter (50mm) and 1.8 inches tall (45.7mm) The design has some added surface detail (rivets and lines) as an added bonus – as you can see in the picture below. It is not perfectly smooth due to the nature of the 3D printing process but it can be sanded and painted. The spinner’s lightweight backplate has a centering hole which needs to be drilled out to fit your prop adapter. You may also need to drill out the center of the propeller to use the prop adapter.
This item is sold as a set of TWO spinners (2 cones and 2 backplates). Both spinners are standard rotation. For use with electric motors only!
The propeller and prop adapter is NOT included but these are available separately.
We also offer a slightly smaller 47mm spinner with a slightly different profile. The 47mm (1.85″) spinner is designed for an 8×4.5 prop, which is available in standard and CR versions. For comparison, this picture shows the 47mm spinner on the left and the 50mm spinner on the right.
