We're able to produce several different kinds of pilot busts - NOTE that these pilots were NOT designed by Rabid Models (please see the attribution with each one). Some are more detailed than others!
They are relatively lightweight - of course the larger the piece is, the more it will weigh. The prices shown are for 1/10 scale figures - but we can make the exact size that you need. What height will be right? Please check the scale of your model and contact us (email) before ordering. You'll notice that the ones that are more highly detailed are priced a little higher. We can make larger sizes, but they'll also cost more so please contact us for details.
Scaling sizes (approximate), for your reference:
Based on a full size human bust being about 18 inches tall:
- 1/13 scale: about 1.4" height, 1.5" width - price around $3.00
- 1/12 scale about 1.5" height, 1.6" width - price around $3.00
- 1/11 scale: about 1.65" height,1.75" width - price around $3.25
- 1/10 scale: about 1.8" height, 2.0" width - price around $3.50
- 1/9 scale: about 2.0" height, 2.25" width - price around $3.50
- 1/8 scale: about 2.25" height. 2.5" width - price around $4.00
These pilots are supplied UNPAINTED and made from white PETG plastic- they are easily painted with enamel or acrylic paint. Painting is recommended. The one that I painted as an example (pictured here) is the WWII "goggles up" pilot in 1/9 scale, it weighs about 9.5 gms (about 1/3 oz).
Please note that the dimensions (height and width) will change in the same ratios when the pilots are enlarged or reduced. If you need a taller figure, these busts can be placed on a stand. If you need narrowed shoulders, I can cut the sides off. The detail on the smaller-size pilots is not as sharp as in the pictures. 3D-parts have a fairly smooth surface finish, but you may wish to carefully remove bits of flash or smooth out minor defects (3D printing is not perfect). If you look closely at the painted pilot you can see the "grain" - this isn't visible from a foot away. It's possible to use some light sanding (carefully) to smooth the grain. This task can be fairly difficult on the smaller sizes!
