Warbird with radial engines often have "Acorn" propeller hubs like the B17 in the first picture. The prop adapters we use on small R/C models don't have the scale look - so as an option we've made these lightweight 3D printed hubs!
For prop adapters with a 5mm thread... remove the cone and use a steel M5 nut (which is available separately) to attach your prop.... then the 3D printed acorn presses onto that nut. We also have hubs that press right onto a GWS propeller hub, no nut needed. These hubs are very simple products but sure look better than a bare nut. NOTE: the propellers in these pictures are not included!
3D-printed Hubs are white PETG plastic, paint them silver.
We have several types to pick from (pictured in order):
Hub for the Fun Scale Models Corsair - for 8mm M5 nut (27mm tall x 21mm diam)
Hub for GWS EPS propellers - it simply fits over the 10.3mm prop hub, which has a recessed nut (27mm tall x 21mm diam). No glue needed. If you're not using the GWS recessed nut, you can use this with an O-ring propsaver.
Hub for the Rabid Models 9x7 3-blade propeller, does NOT use a nut, it simply fits over the 10.5mm prop hub. No glue needed. Meant to be used with an O-ring propsaver.
Small Hub for 5gm and 10gm motors with 5" or 6" props - for 8mm M5 nut (Hub is 9mm tall x 8.3mm diam). It fits tightly onto the nut. It's hollow and can also be glued right over a small prop adapter or used with an O-ring propsaver.
Small Hub for Dynam PBY with 8" propeller & other models - for 5.5mm M3 nut (Hub is 15.5mm tall x 12mm diam). Refer to the picture. Many older GWS planes used a protruding M3 nut.
AND - the Steel M5 Hex Nut is available separately as well.
ALTERNATIVES: We have a Very Small "acorn" prop adapter (fits 2mm motor shaft) for our 5gm and 10gm motors. And we have METAL acorn hubs that screw onto a prop adapter with a 5mm propshaft. The metal hubs are a bit heavier!
