This unique model of the famous "Peacemaker" Cold-war era intercontinental bomber was designed to be powered by six "IPS" brushed motors with 4" propellers, using a single brushed 15-amp ESC with a 2-cell Lipo battery. This is a hand-cut model, not laser-cut, and is produced to order. The brushed motors and ESC are no longer readily available but other power options are possible. The model is relatively easy to construct, but the one time-consuming thing you'll have to do is fabricate the wiring harness that's required for the six motors.
The kit includes the foam parts needed to build this model, along with carbon-fiber spars and a fully detailed construction manual - and some accessories such as the pull-pull control system. The customer will need to supply glue, paint, and other hobby tools, at least two micro servos, plus motors, and R/C electronics in order to put it together. Rabid Models offers some of these items separately. This plane needs a working rudder - but instead of an additional servo, the rudder is simply hooked up to the aileron servo so the rudder works with the aileron. It flies very well this way.
The "motor package" that is offered includes six brushed IPS motors, 6 2-blade 4x2.5 propellers, 6 propsavers, and one 20-amp brushed ESC. You will need a 2-cell Lipo battery in the 1500-2000mah range. (do not use a 3-cell)
Here is a video showing the prototype flying in an indoor venue. it is extremely stable and easy to fly but will NOT fly with the motors shut off - too much drag. Fortunately a 2-cell 1500mah battery will last a long time! The model was designed to be a "belly lander". Since I flew it indoors, I eventually added a custom-made landing gear for it - this is not included with the kit but instructions are included to show you how to do it. The optional "jet pods" are included and provide some protection for the props during landing)
