"Edge Rounder" Sanding Tool #L8

This 6" sander was designed specifically to round over outside corners, such as on the sides of balsa "box" fuselages. It will work for sanding foam edges as well.   The tool has 120-grit sandpaper attached to the entire length, and on the flat sides for a hand grip.   

Note: the color of the sandpaper may vary depending on the available stock. You can remove the paper if needed by applying foam-safe CA activator to dissolve the glue. New sandpaper can be attached using a spray contact cement such as 3M brand "77".

Material: 3D-printed PETG Plastic with 120-grit sandpaper attached

This is part # L8 - designed for rounding sheeted 1/4" corners (see the picture).  For best results, we suggest carving the corner to a rough shape first and then use the tool to smooth the curve.

Parts# L1-L4 are 6 inches long and 12-14mm (1/2" - 3/4") wide.  The second picture shows the 6" tools along with a 1/4" dowel rod for comparison.

• L1 U-shape is for rounding the edge of 3/8"-thick balsa. (can also be used on 5/16) 
• L2 makes a 60-degree tapered edge on 7/16"-thick balsa and smaller
• L3 U-shape is for rounding the edge of 1/4"-thick balsa. (can also be used on 3/16)
• L4 makes a 90-degree edge on 5/16"-thick balsa (1/4" as well)
• L5 (6.5 inches long) U-shape is for rounding the edge of 7/16"-thick balsa

Parts# L6-L7 are 8 inches long and 18mm (3/4") wide for thicker balsa

• L6 makes a 60-degree tapered edge on 5/8"-thick balsa (can be used on 1/2" as well)
• L7 - U shape for rounding the edge of 5/8"-thick balsa (will work on 1/2" as well)
