FoamieDye™ Fast-Drying Colorant
Developed and tested in concert with Black Mountain Research, LLC. of Cave Creek AZ. Made in the USA!
Each bottle contains 14ml / 0.5oz. Pick the color! We suggest combining with other items on your order since these bottles are so small. 21 colors available, plus Solvent. Please see the sample color swatches below.
- Bright and vibrant colors! Alcohol-based staining dye dries extremely quickly!
- Foam and plastic safe - no odor.
- Apply FoamieDye™ colorant with a cotton swab, foam brush, or airbrush. It will not add any weight to your model.
- Unlike paint, FoamieDye™ will not run, pool, sag, or leave brush marks!
- FoamieDye™ is much thinner than paint - it will not form air bubbles and it adheres well to foam and other materials due to low viscosity, density, and surface tension. A little goes a long way.
- FoamieDye™ works on all kinds of white foam- but you can use it on many other materials such as plastic, plastic film, 3D-printed objects, silk & tissue, paper, cardstock, stone, and even metal. For best results apply on white or clear materials.
NOTES: Alcohol-based staining dye is NOT a paint! Best when applied on white foam or plastic. Will not cover other colors. When two colors are merged, they will mix together. FoamieDye™ can be applied over a light primer or white latex paint, works perfectly over smooth spray-painted surfaces.
FoamieDye™ will stain almost anything including skin, so its recommended to wear disposable gloves when using. The alcohol solvent does NOT contain any methyl (wood) alcohol.
SOLVENT: we offer a solvent for these colors, which can be used to clean brushes and its foam-safe - you can use it to easily remove dried colorant from foam and other surfaces, almost like magic! The solvent may be used as a thinner, but that is usually not needed.
NEW - Silver colorant is available! Pictures don't show the shine so please check this video demo.
Pictured below are some example swatches - these were applied on white paper with a Q-tip. Photos are hard to capture true color but these are fairly close representations. Left side is "full strength", right side is "light touch". I didn't include a BLACK swatch because ... its black so that's self-explanatory!!
