3D-printed WHEELS and STRUT COVERS for the Fun Scale Models Do335 Pfeil

Description

In addition to the spinner set that we offer for the Fun Scale Models Do335, Rabid Models also has some additional lightweight parts you may order for this model!  We have scale black rubber tires, scale wheel hubs, and wire strut covers for the nose and main gear!  Please see the pictures below!

Airplane not included!  This picture above shows Derek’s prototype model with the spinner and custom wheels installed. Derek painted the spinner and wheel hubs to match his model.  The “Fun Scale Models” Do-335 Park-flyer will be offered as a laser-cut short kit by Manzano Laser works (LINK COMING SOON).  Here is a VIDEO showing this model in flight!  Rabid Models also offers a custom-designed 3D-printed 3-blade spinner set (front and rear) for the Do-335: (click here)

In addition, we ALSO offer the Motor Package for this model which includes the brushless motor, ESC, spinner set, and propeller!

PLEASE NOTE: there are TWO DIFFERENT part sets available on this page! 

The first parts set includes three tires and their wheel hubs:

TWO 60 x 16 mm SCALE MAIN GEAR TIRES: Flexible Black TPU, 7.2gm, smooth tread.  

ONE 41.5 x 10mm SCALE NOSE GEAR TIRE: Flexible Black TPU, 3.0gm, smooth tread.

DETAILED WHEEL HUB SET: White PETG. (see above pictures) Set includes 2 main gear wheel hub sets (4.6gm ea) and 1 nose gear hub set (2.2gm).   The hubs each have 2 halves. Simply glue the two hub halves onto each side of the landing gear wire.  The hubs are supplied unpainted.  (The wire needs to be bent to shape)

NOTE: The 1/16″ wire is not included with these parts!  The wheel parts set comes with two main gear tires and hubs, and one nose gear tire and hub.  These parts can also be ordered separately. (contact us) Total Weight for all three tires and hubs: 28.5gm (about 1 ounce).

The second parts set contains 3D-printed wire STRUT COVERS for the nose gear wire and main gear wire:  the SIX pieces in the set as pictured below include the nose gear strut and fender (2 pcs on the left) and the main gear strut covers (4 pieces on the right).  These pieces must be glued together over the landing gear wire.  They are supplied unpainted.  Total weight:  9 gms (not including wire, glue, paint)

3D-printed parts are unpainted but require very little preparation – they can be painted with any plastic-compatible paint.  Painting is recommended because all plastics will deteriorate over time if exposed to sunlight.  The strut covers and wheel hubs can be glued together with CA or Foam-Tac cement.  The two hub halves are designed to be glued onto the wheel and have starter holes for the axle – drill out the holes to match the axle wire size you are using. The strut covers are designed to fit around 1/16″ music-wire landing gear wire (as specified in the kit instructions). The 1/16″ landing gear wire and nose gear axle is not included.
