CUSTOM LANDING GEAR PARTS for the Fun Scale Models Do335 Pfeil

In addition to the propeller and spinner set that we offer for the Fun Scale Models Do335, Rabid Models offers these additional lightweight detail parts that are the crowning touch for this model!  We have scale black rubber main and nose tires, scale wheel hubs, and decorative wire strut covers for the nose and main gear - and we also have a retract kit with micro servos. Derek's model features all of these items.

ON THIS WEB PAGE we offer THREE DIFFERENT part sets for the Fun Scale Models Do335:

(1) FIRST PARTS SET: THREE 3D-printed rubber tires and their wheel hubs:

TWO 60 x 16 mm SCALE MAIN GEAR TIRES: Flexible Black TPU, 7.2gm, smooth tread.

ONE 41.5 x 10mm SCALE NOSE GEAR TIRE: Flexible Black TPU, 3.0gm, smooth tread.

Specs on the WHEEL HUB SET: White PETG. (see above pictures) Set includes 2 main gear wheel hub sets (4.6gm ea) and 1 nose gear hub set (2.2gm). The hubs each have 2 halves. Simply glue the two hub halves onto each side of the tire. The hubs are supplied unpainted and the axle hole must be drilled out.

The wheel parts set comes with two main gear tires and hubs, and one nose gear tire and hub. These parts can also be ordered separately. (contact us) Total Weight for all three tires and hubs: 28.5gm (about 1 ounce). NOTE: The 1/16" wire is not included with this set!

(2) THE SECOND PARTS SET contains 3D-printed plastic STRUT COVERS for the nose gear wire and main gear wires, pictured below:

There are SIX pieces, including the nose gear strut and fender (2 pcs on the left) and the main gear strut covers (4 pieces on the right). These pieces are glued together (sandwiched) over the bare landing gear wire. They are supplied unpainted. Total weight: 9 gms (not including wire, glue, paint)

(3) THE THIRD PARTS SET includes the 3 servos for the retractable landing gear and other items, per Derek's design.

Includes three digital micro-servos (two 9gm metal-gear and one 4.3gm metal gear), four 1/16" wire lengths (2 x 6.5", 1 x 5", and a nose gear axle), and six micro connectors.  (The wire landing gear legs are connected directly to the servo arm with the micro connectors. The wire is supplied in straight pieces, you must bend them to the correct shape to fit the struts, according to Derek's plans.)

3D-printed parts are unpainted but require very little preparation - they can be painted with any plastic-compatible paint. Painting is recommended because all plastics will deteriorate over time if exposed to sunlight. The strut covers and wheel hubs can be glued together with CA or Foam-Tac cement. The two hub halves are designed to be glued onto the wheel and have starter holes for the axle - drill out the holes to match the axle wire size you are using. The strut covers are designed to fit around 1/16" music-wire landing gear wire (as specified in the kit instructions).
