Description
Derek Micko’s Fun Scale Models 32″ F4U Corsair “Screaming Meanie” is the latest addition to the line and it can be built in two different versions (regular wing with no gear or plug-in landing gear, or folding wing with rotating retractable landing gear) and Rabid Models has a number of custom-designed 3D-printed parts for these different configurations!

The folding wing and retract installation is somewhat complicated, requiring exacting craftsmanship, adjustment, and attention to fine detail – and 4 additional servos. Derek is producing some build videos which will explain how he did it… coming soon! The Corsair with the standard wing uses the 1700kv motor (2S battery) with a 9×7 3-bladed propeller, the motor package is available from Rabid Models HERE. The Corsair with the folding wings and the rotating retractable landing gear uses a more powerful emax 2822 1200kv motor (3S) and 9.5×7 propeller, these are NOT available from Rabid Models.
The various items in these packages are all available separately, if needed. Contact us for details.
General Notes: 3D-printed parts are unpainted but require very little preparation – they can be painted with any plastic-compatible paint. Painting is recommended because all plastics will deteriorate over time if exposed to sunlight. The strut covers and wheel hubs can be glued together with CA or Foam-Tac cement. The wheel hub halves are designed to be glued onto the wheel and have starter holes for the axle – drill out the holes to match the axle wire size you are using. The strut covers are designed to fit around 1/16″ music-wire landing gear wire (as specified in the kit instructions).
