Description
This is a 3D-printed replica of a “Lewis Machine Gun with mount” sized to fit the 1/6 scale 50″ wingspan SE-5a Biplane designed by Pat Tritle (the kit will be available soon by Manzano Laser Works).
This piece was created by Thingiverse user Moparman64, and is licensed under Creative Commons – Attribution. The model was modified by Rabid Models (it was resized and divided into parts so it could be presented as a kit.)
The replica Lewis gun will most likely also fit other 1/6 scale SE-5 models. The piece is supplied as a kit – the separate parts are produced in two halves which must be glued together and then assembled. The prototype shown here was painted but no extra detail was added and no attempt was made to fix anything – this is how the parts look without any modification.
The next picture shows a museum airplane with a similar Lewis gun, along with the gun mount for reference. The modeler can add some extra details as desired, such as the bi-pod at the bottom of the rack and the trigger cable (these details are not included with this kit).

The Lewis Gun Kit has 10 pieces, made from 3D-Printed White PETG. There are 5 parts in two halves which must be glued together and assembled.

Weight: 23 grams (about 1 ounce) – gun & mounting rack, not including glue and paint which is necessary for construction.
The plastic 3D-printed parts are supplied unfinished and unpainted. They can be easily trimmed & filled and sanded smooth – and we recommend painting with any plastic-compatible paint. Painting is recommended because all plastics will deteriorate over time if exposed to sunlight.
NOTE: we also will offer a 3D-printed instrument panel to fit this model as well.
